Our beginners to expert program, is accessible to all, even those who have never worked with animals before. It takes the learner through all aspects of dog grooming, covering both the practical aspect and the theory behind it. At the end of this course students will have gained the knowledge to allow them to become a fully qualified dog groomer.

How we are different
We pride ourselves on being different, offering a different approach to dog grooming and training. We specialise in ‘Kind’ dog grooming, which not only means kind to dogs but kind to ourselves.
Be: Dog is the brain child of Sophie and Louise who together decided to re-write the traditional dog grooming ways of working and have built a salon and training school with a reputation of being able to groom the un-groomable. Tapping in on Louise’s over 25 years within the industry, we have developed a training program that not only teaches the art of dog grooming but one that will enable you to work with dogs in a safe and respectful manner. Working at each students pace and ability, the course is adapted to be kind to the learner.
Course content
The course will cover the preparation to dog grooming, breed cuts, advanced grooming, dog handling, health and safety.
To ensure the best use of our training time, homework and assessments will be set to ensure the theory side is being understood.
Timeline and Price
Students are given 12 months to complete the course, although we envisage most students will qualify within 6 months.
Our Beginner to Expert Course costs £5000 and is the equivalent to a level 1,2 & 3 in dog grooming. You will receive a Be: Dog training certificate at the end of successfully completing the course. We do offer payment plans to help with the payment of the course.
A £500 deposit is required to secure your placement on the course. The deposit is taken off the £5000 course total. The deposit is non-refundable if you do choose to not attend the course.
Other courses are also available including a 121 intensive course with Louise. Advanced scissor work and clipper work courses. Teeth cleaning for professionals and pet owners. Please contact us for more information.
Equipment
Students will need to start the course with basic equipment, which we can help source for you. These items include: scissors, comb, clippers, blades, comb attachments, brushes. A full equipment list is available, however you can ask Be: Dog to source your equipment for you, this will be an additional payment but we can offer cheaper prices for our students with regards to equipment.
